As a Cloud Solutions Engineer focused on Pre-Sales, you willprovide transaction and onboarding support, as well as training, communication, and documentation toassist the sales process.Additionally, you will routinely architect solutions for bothdemonstration purposes and customer success engineering engagements both pre- and post-sale. Youwill have the opportunity to speak on behalf of client at public-facing events such as webinars andtradeshows, so you must have excellent communication skills to clearly communicate your technicalknowledge.
Job responsibilities
Provide pre-salestechnical support for the sales team and sales process via telephone, email, webinars, andface-to-face communication.
Assist customers with determining the best solutions andpresent the capabilities of clients’s technology, support, and value.
Engage incustomer success engineering directly on the clients platform in pre- and post-sale scenarios.
Screen customer technology to determine compatibility with clients products.
Communicate customer technical requirements to the services group for installation.
Create training and reference documents and modules for sales staff.
Develop, document,train, and maintain demonstration scenarios, accounts, data, and sales documentation for customersand sales staff.
Attend classes, seminars, webinars, trade shows, conferences, and usergroups to maintain technical knowledge, learn new methods and technology, and develop professionalskills.
Develop, lead, and participate in webinars for clients media library and customermeetings.
Coordinate with services and engineering on trends and requirements identifiedvia the sales process.
Understand and communicate the value proposition and advantages ofnew product features and enhancements.
Travel up to 25 percent of the time.
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills through all levels of communication.
Contribute to the knowledge base, Wiki, and other RightScale resources to help build the bestcustomer experience.
Work closely with the team to ensure that all company and personalgoals are met or exceeded.
Qualifications:
Highly technical and analytical withminimum 5+ years implementation or equivalent technical experience
Hands-on experience withAmazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or other IaaS cloud service provider isstrongly desired.
Experience working with full application stacks from OS up through customapplications.
Some programming/scripting experience (PHP, Java, Perl, and/or Ruby).
B.S./B.A. is required; technical background in CS or MIS is strongly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to vet and propose cloudcomputing architectures and strategies.
Masterful at presenting over the phone, in person,and via web conferencing.
