Primary Responsibilities: Provide operational support and problem resolution of the vBlock infrastructure environment which includes building, install, configuring and maintaining VMWare products, Microsoft products, monitoring tools (vRealize Operations Manager, vRA & vRB), and capacity management tools as part of the Enterprise Cloud environment.
Management of service constituencies associated to Enterprise Client environments.
Follow, and enforce, established enterprise class change management protocol in alignment ITIL 3 standards.
Ensure administration and documentation are kept up to date as to ensure operational governance is consistently adhered to.
Participate in business continuation / disaster recovery infrastructure planning, building, and testing of such efforts.
Manage and report on new implementations, lifecycle management, patch management, optimization and service improvement efforts.
Research and report on root cause analysis and escalate to management.
Develop, automate and implement industry and operations best practices.
Perform capacity management and availability management.
Must have the ability to understand and relate to new products, technology and strategy, and be able to follow directions from team leaders and management.
Strong communication skills required and the ability to conduct training sessions to share knowledge with peers and other support teams.
Demonstrates good planning and organisational skills to prioritise in order to meet deadlines and cope with fluctuations in workload.
Work well in a team format across managed services teams and participate to build a performance culture.
Provide a level of project management capability that includes planning, documenting and the execution of projects.
Available to work outside of normal business hours to fulfil production and project needs, provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis.
Some travel may be required from time to time. Willingness to travel.
Qualifications:
Advanced technical knowledge and skill on vBlock with latest certification a requirement and 5 years relevant experience.
VMWare certifications.
Technical ability to move workloads and upgrade vBlock RCM firmware on server platforms.
5+ years relevant enterprise class Managed Services production operational exposure which includes ITIL3 governance and change process protocol.
Strong administrative and documentation skill with excellent written and oral communication a must.
Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline intensive environment.
Experience in implementing and maintaining of Microsoft Operating Systems: Windows Server 2008 and 2012, including DNS, DHCP, VLAN, storage configuration and administration a plus.
Experience with General Network Infrastructure including Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks. (Switching, firewalls, cabling).
Self-motivated and mature approach including strong organizational skills a must.
