Role details:
Prestigious "BestCompany to Work For" based in Sandton is urgently looking for an Onsite Manager to join their ITTeam on a permanent basis. The will be managing all the activities within different sites and willbe leading a team of Desktop Support Engineers.

Experience &Qualifications

Level of Accountability: Functionalleadership

Relevant IT degree or diploma (Computer Science/Information Systems/Information Technology) is preferred with recognition given to prior learning experience.

Experience within the short-term insurance, asset management, savings, investment,healthcare

Typically 10 to 18 years’ experience within the IT managementspace

Other IT or industry related qualification(s) would be an advantage

Strong understanding and experience with Project Management methodologies andpractices (including scope, time, costs, quality, HR, communication, risk, change management andprocurement)

Must have extensive people management skills from planningand delegation to motivation,
communication and performance management

Ideally come from a consulting background thus having a having a solid client-driven mind-set andfocus.

Must have a strong hands-on/technical knowledge of coreMicrosoft technologies including but not limited to Windows/Linux Servers, Active Directory, MS SQLand core Network technologies like LAN/WAN, subnets and firewalls.

Must have astrong hands-on/technical knowledge of end user devices technologies

Must have astrong hands-on/technical knowledge of virtualization technologies

Must have anin-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle

Sound knowledge andexperience in capacity planning and management

The Incumbent will be responsiblefor:
Perspective: Process

Ensure theeffective management of the EWS teams within the associated sites.

Initiate andmonitor improvement projects that will increase productivity, strengthen weaknesses and protectagainst risk

Regularly review adherence to agreed processes, proceduresand quality standards in order to effectively coordinate operational services

Review and analyse the effectiveness of operational systems, processes and procedures, andidentify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies in the department

Development & maintenance of system documentation, to meet both operational & compliancerequirements

Vendor management ito of contracts, service levels and costs

Comprehensive reporting to stakeholders and management on all aspects of IT operationsand Risk Management

Attend and provide input into EnterpriseProductivity (EP) Manco function ito of on-going operations.

Participate in thedevelopment of an overall national Enterprise Productivity strategy.

Perspective: Finance

Participate in the annual budgetingprocess by compiling and following through on the approval of the budget

Management and completion of the monthly overtime and travel of engineers.

Perspective: Client Services

Maintain effectiveinternal and external stakeholder relationships and ensure successful service delivery andoperational support for the various business units.

Ensuring alignment with thevarious business units and building a partnership based relationship.

ManageService Level Agreements with operational stakeholders related to IT service requirements andconditions of satisfaction

Manage service delivery and support againstinternal and external Service Level Agreements,

              deadlines andstakeholder requirements.

Contribute to a service culture which builds rewardingrelationships, proposes innovations and allows others to provide exceptional client service.

Ensure thatemployees have clear work expectations and work in a productive environment with documentedperformance contracts and set targets for improvements

Knowledge of financial industry(insurance, securities and/or asset management) and role players will be very beneficial
