Grade 12, NQF Level 4, plus relevant diploma, NQF Level 5
5 – 8 years in an IT environment of which at least four years in a Security environment
At least have the following Certifications and Background:

· Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) experience and related certification.
Trend Micro Antimalware experience and related certification.
McAfee Antimalware experience and related certification
Experience in Vulnerability Management processes and the related toolsets.
Understanding of Network, Server and Workstation topologies.
Understand risk and the associated security principles.

Effectively produce schedules of requests for change (RFCs) for managing changes to the live infrastructure in a timely manner

· Direct the change management database, ensuring accuracy and consistency of data in alignment with stated standards

· Continuously maintain links to clients/users to resolve queries

· Successfully interrogate the change management database to produce reports for bodies that review changes, such as change advisory boards (CABs), and for clients/users and management

· Constantly contribute to the development of change management procedures

· Act as a secretary to meetings that review changes, such as change advisory boards (CABs), providing all necessary documentation relating to the status of changes and produce minutes recording decisions made


Control Network

· Regularly advice on communications requirements of installed and planned networked information systems, including security, characteristics of associated hardware and software and targets for performance and quality of service.

· Successfully diagnose and resolve problems, ensuring that the agreed levels of service and the needs for quality, security, availability and safety, utilising appropriate specialised techniques, tools, methods or standards are taken into account and met


Manage Problems

· Continually obtain diagnostic data to assist in the investigation and resolution of problems.

· Effectively match unresolved incidents against existing problems, known errors and other incidents.

· Ensure that incidents and problems in systems and services are fully documented within the configuration management defect/problem reporting system in alignment with BCX’s policies and procedures

· Accurately classify and prioritise unresolved incidents.

· Successfully initiate and co-ordinate investigations to discover root causes, and further the implementation of remedial action.
