Durban based client requires an Infrastructure Manager for six month to join their team

DataCentre
•Provides management and direction for physical data centres, monitoring and on-going maintenance. Provide operational and technical leadership for Data Centre operations support activities.
•Developing Data Centre standards, processes and procedures in line with Transnet architecture and industry ‘best practice’.
•Liaison with Business, Technical teams, Facilities management and site support teams to ensure proper management of installations and decommission activities in the Data Centre.
•Account for, manage and protect the integrity of Server infrastructure and configuration items through the service lifecycle by ensuring that only authorised components are used and only authorised changes are made adhering to Transnet policies and procedures.
•Schedule, Supervise and approve work to be conducted out of hours under the appropriate approved change requests.
IT Assets Desktops/Laptop/Printers etc.
•Full lifecycle management of IT and service assets, from the point of acquisition through to disposal
•Maintenance of the asset inventory - ensure that selected components of a service, system or product (the configuration) are identified, baselined and maintained and that changes to them are controlled.
•Responsible for the management of software and technology-related hardware within the organization ensuring that business leverages from the latest technological advancements.
•Management of TPL printing environment and Managed Print Service contract administration.
Video Conferencing
•Maintain the overall design of A/V systems and ensure audio visual conferencing technologies meet business requirements and are marketed effectively.
General
•Provision ICT infrastructure on-time and within-budget in compliance with Transnet information security frameworks, standards, practices and architecture.
•Developing IT standards and protocols in line with client's architecture and industry ‘best practice’.
•Budget & Planning forecasting based on Infrastructure activities and initiatives.
•Analyse monthly service level reporting from outsource partners for accuracy, compliance to contract as well as recommending areas for improvement.
•Produces regular reports on service performance and achievement.
•Work closely with the vendor management teams to levy penalties and receives service credits in accordance with prevailing Service Level Agreements.
•Resolve escalations and track performance issues with service providers and ICT management.
•Organizes and maintains the service level review process with the business and service providers. Initiates any actions required to maintain or improve service levels.
•Manage and track progress of projects in area of responsibility with respect to scope, schedule, budget and results.
•On-going Risk Management and Treatment
