Role details:
The Executive Director: Information and Communication Technology Services (ICTS) is a senior position reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of the University. The incumbent will be accountable for identifying and articulating the University’s present and future ICT requirements in the support of Teaching, Research and community engagement, and the provision and management of central ICT services to meet those requirements within affordability limits.
Given the complexity of this academic environment, we require the Executive Director: ICTS to be an experienced ICT professional with strong leadership and management skills, with previous experience at this senior management level preferably in a tertiary education environment.
The incumbent will be accountable for developing and maintaining an appropriate ICTS infrastructure and support environment for teaching, research and community engagement in alignment with the University’s vision and Strategic Plan.

The key requirements include:

- A relevant tertiary level qualification;
- Typically 5 – 10 years’ experience at the senior management level in ICT;
- Proven experience in introducing innovation, leading change and influencing individuals;
- The ability to mediate conflict and negotiate with key stakeholders;
- Experience in implementing and integrating large and complex systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in and the necessary knowledge of a tertiary education environment required to support the academic enterprise.
