PRINCIPAL PROFESSIONAL OFFICER

TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R847 507 PER ANNUM

Requirements:

- BEng Electronics, Electrical, Computers, Communications, Engineering (Telecoms)
- 5 to 8 years relevant experience in this highly specialised field, experience at management level is highly recommended
- Expertise and experience in developing, testing and implementing projects, programmes, systems, policies and practices utilising data gathering systems, radio and other communicating systems, image and video transmissions systems and business analysis systems
- Management knowledge of utilising GSM, TETRA, SCADA, Telemetry, RFID and similar systems/technology specifically relating to the solid waste management business
- A valid Code B driver’s licence
- Willingness to work after hours, on weekends and public holidays, if required.

Key Performance Areas:

- Apply a substantial body of professional knowledge and specialised technical expertise coupled with in-depth experience to develop, test, apply and implement a wide range of projects, programmes, systems, policies and practices within the Operations Control Centre and across several allied disciplines in the organisation, so as to effect continuous optimisation of refuse collection service delivery - Communicate with fellow professionals as well as internal and external clients on issues of common interest and/or to share information
- Compile reports and correspondence of a more specialised, complex and involved nature to facilitate the functioning of the Department/Branch
- Manage the work of junior staff and other professionals in the Operations Control centre in order to ensure the smooth running of the operation and to implement programmes and projects, processes, policies and systems.
