INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY (TELECOMMUNICATIONS)
SENIOR PROFESSIONAL OFFICER: WIRELESS MAINTENANCE
TCOE SALARY COMMENCING FROM R694 272 PER ANNUM

Requirements:
- A first degree or BTech qualification with relevant experience in the field of Telecommunications Radio and Microwave Systems.

Key Performance Areas: - Ensure that the engineering, implementation and maintenance of the City’s Telecommunications Radio (TETRA) and microwave technologies infrastructure are carried out adequately, in compliance with the Telecoms’ standard procedures and specifications and in support of overall business goals of the section and the branch
- Compile procedure and specifications documentation
- Address objectives and concerns of a highly complex technical nature
- Act as a senior technical lead for complex installations and implementations
- Responsible for acceptance of new infrastructure, stakeholder liaison within the Branch in the particular field
- Maintain consistent interaction with other sections within the branch to prevent and proactively address issues concerning direct and indirect impacts on clients
- Ensure that any new installation or implementation to the City’s telecommunications infrastructure is managed with minimum disruption to existing live services by following established change control procedures
- Manage a team of radio technicians.
