Purpose
The head of IT (finance) is responsible for leading the delivery of IT services within the Financial Services, Customer & Marketing, Enterprise & IT, and Incubation Delivery Units, including development of new services, changes, service retirement/decommissioning and service support. Accountable for delivering the demand pipeline of projects, programmes, and product iterations required to develop and release IT services and features for these delivery units.
Overall
? Manage, oversee, and take ultimate accountability for in-scope delivery units, enabling them to effectively deliver through active sponsorship, leadership
and business involvement in specific initiatives to ensure they meet time, cost and quality requirements.
? Work closely with Business Engagement Managers to understand, shape and prioritise the service roadmaps for each delivery unit, working with delivery
unit leads and relevant IT discipline leads and specialists, in order to ensure that business unit customers are served.
? To ensure Business derive maximum value from the solutions provided.
Portfolio Planning
? Manage budgeting of portfolio projects
? Accountable for ensuring effective planning and coordination for their delivery unit team(s), overseeing and directing resource scheduling, estimation,
work breakdown and work package definition, and backlog planning. Facilitates and guides delivery trade off decisions and prioritisation.
? Accountable for ensuring the readiness of the company’s IT and Business for all new and changed services through effective transition planning in collaboration
with business and relevant leaders in organisational change management.
Portfolio Delivery
? Accountable for providing projects and programme leadership, managing and coordinating the coherent activities needed to design, develop, and release
services or service changes.
? Ensures that risks and issues are effectively managed, communication is appropriate and timely, and resources are efficiently utilised within the cost and
time constraints applicable.
? Ensure critical Business Support issues are addressed within agreed timelines.
Portfolio Service Maintenance
? Accountable for managing the maintenance of the technology portfolio and ensuring applications run efficiently and are available to all relevant users and
business stakeholders
? Manage the relationships of relevant application suppliers to ensure technology portfolio is maintained
Incubation
? Innovation idea elicitation, concept development and prototyping
? Minimum Viable Product delivery for selected prototypes and concepts.
REQUIREMENTS
10+ years of experience in a portfolio delivery environment with demonstrated complex project delivery success.
Bachelors and MBA (Preferred)
Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Customer/Partner Relationships, Product & Technology
Expertise, Project Management, Delivery Management, Financial Management (P&L) and Strategic Insight
IT Implementation (e.g. CMM and CMMI), IT Service Delivery and Support (e.g. ITIL Foundation), Project Management fundamentals (e.g. PMI or equivalent) and Industry-specific certifications
Leadership of multi-disciplined/skilled delivery teams within Portfolio
Good balance of strategic thinking and execution
