Key Responsibilities:identifying opportunities to improve systems (e.g. robustness, technology upgrades and application of best practice)
designing technical solutions for specified requirements
developing the solution
unit and integration testing the developed solution
contributing to the release of system changes.
Delivering on governance requirements and best practice by:
ensuring adherence to technology best practice (e.g. soft configuration and virtualisation)
maintaining appropriate documentation regarding solution
ensuring required records are kept (e.g. test approvals) for audit purposes.
Deliver on the service requests (e.g. queries on database) raised by Business from time to time.
Required Skills and Knowledge :
A 3-year Information Technology degree or equivalent.
Java developer qualification/specialisiation (J2EE - Server side - Beans, SOA, JDBC, ORM tool JMS)
Good working knowledge of MQ
Good working knowledge of Relational Databases: (preferably Oracle and/or MS SQL Basic SQL)
Good working knowledge of Unix (using Unix tools like sed, awk, expr, grep)
Knowledge of the .Net framework will be advantageous
Knowledge of Qlikview applications will be advantageous
Knowledge of Financial Risk management in the financial services industry – especially Credit Risk - will be advantageous.
Experience
At least 7 Years’ experience as a Java developer, preferably using NetBeans.
Integration experience will be advantageous. (Seebeyond or any integration tool.)
Experience in managing delivery of changes utilising a Systems Development Life Cycle approach.
Proven track record in the developing supporting technical design and architecture documents.
Experience in Risk Management in Financial Services organisations will be advantageous.
